Diversity makes the difference for Libby’s Pride Wines. The wines have been selected to suit different markets and consumer needs. From the initial 4 varieties, the brand now boasts a series of 10 wines in the range. These are Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin, Chardonnay, Sweet White, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet, Pinotage, Sweet Red blend and a Sweet Rosé.

It has not been an easy journey for Libby. She took a leap of faith and started her own wine company in 2009. In the early years she struggled to get funding to grow her business, black-owned brands did not get the recognition or support they deserved and it was only after the South African Wine Industry Transformation Unit SAWITU was established in 2016, that she could start seeing a remarkable change.

Libby’s Pride Wines started with 60 cases of mixed wine that was sold out of hand and also had to be used for tastings. Today, they sell up to 4000 cases per year, have listings with national retailers like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Spar and more.

Trading in good quality is first and foremost the business of Libby’s Pride Wines. These wines are produced under the management team of Libby’s Pride and wine maker Hennie Huskinsson and as per requirements of the company clientele.
Hennie Huskisson, is one of the rising stars on the Cape winemaking scene. Hennie was schooled at Paarl Gymnasium and studied agriculture and cellar technology at Elsenburg, where, in 1994, he received the KWV trophy for the best student in cellar technology.

Discover your senses. This is always a topic of discussion with clients, “what wine should we get to elevate the occasion.” Allow us to offer some guidance and share what others found interestingly enough, a pleasing surprise when explored. Cabernet – Easily welcomed to any braai or with a good steak. Figs, Cherries, Blackberries are all complimentary foods and flavors.
Champagne – As we know this is a bubbly for any special occasion. How about with fries? Chocolate has been known to be amazing with it.
Chardonnay – Although a white wine is associated with white meats. Apparently it suites a movie night when popcorn is had……. Pineapple, jackfruit, lemons, white asparagus, avos, corn and sweet bell peppers are suggestions that could pair well.
Merlot – The perfect all rounder for Sunday lunch, as people say it is amazing with a raspberry ice-cream, and a definite with grilled chicken and hearty vegetables.
Rose and Sweet Red – A pizza pairing! Your choice depending on meat or more vegetarian. Rose with cheese, strawberries, garlic scapes, apricotes and ramps. Never know what to have with Shrimp, these varieties came up as tops.
Sauvignon Blanc – This is synonymous with white meat dishes, Thai cuisine, Greek foods and salads, you can be sure leafy greens, fiddlehead ferns, limes, oysters and spicy cucumber, all but make this a prerequisite.

Our Products
CABERNET SAUVIGNON With a beautiful carmine colour, this classic cabernet sauvignon exhibits a bouquet of violets and fynbos. Blackcurrant flavors and structured tannins leave your palate yearning for more.
SWEET ROSE A delicate pink / orange in colour, provanced style Rosé. A fruit forward nose leads to an elegant palate of strawberry and peach flavors, with a subtle, lingering finish.
MERLOT A bold, fruity Merlot with unrestrained blackcurrant flavors on the nose. A medium-bodied wine with subtle tannins.
SAUVIGNON BLANC Expressive tropical fruit notes lead to a crisp palate with a green fig finish.
CHARDONNAY An easy drinking Chardonnay with hints of apricot and peach on the nose. This well-rounded dry wine confirms the peach characteristics on the palate supported by flavors of honey-blossom.
SWEET RED Red current, red cherries, strawberries and spices open the bouquet. Soft ripe tannins and intense berry flavors coat the palate.
SHIRAZ This bouquet hosts a plethora of spices, with Cloves at the forefront. Matured in French Oak, this full-bodied wine has soft ripe tannins and a fruity, dry finish.
